TRUTH & FICTION- the line to draw.

In today's society, there is not much of a line between the truth and fiction in many of our media outlets.  First off, television clearly has aspects of truth and fiction, but sometimes the line is blurred.  Such as in reality television show.  Most of them are scripted and purposely planned to make characters either be appealing or unappealing to viewers.  Although the news is supposedly "real" world news, it can often be subjective.  Opinions, emotions and all are included in this type of media.  Now some would not see this as subjective, however I believe portions of it to be.  One aspect of our society that is truly harsh upon its participants is the entertainment industry.  When stars finally reach fame after much hard work and effort, they are subjecting themselves to the blurred appearance seen by the rest of the world of their real and fictional lives.  So much of the media commenting upon stars, such as perezhilton.com, is fake.  This type of subjection even happens in people's everyday lives, scientifically known as gossip, or rumors. It really makes you think about perspective.  Who believes these things people are saying about you? Who has the audacity to create crewel, and sometimes flattering, commentary about a person?  Most of the time this blurred perception is hurtful and can be destructive for certain individuals felt most pressured.  In my life, although I am not a star or a politician, I try to stay away from this falsification of people, and reduce gossip among my friends.  Of course everyone is subjected to a bit of "talking" about others, but people need to really think about the line between truth and fictions when hearing things or saying things about people.  Ignorance can be surpassed by awareness.
