Non-art object as art:
For this part of the assignment, I am choosing to talk about...BONGS! Although generally used for smoking marijuana, tabaco , and other curious substances, bongs can be extremely beautiful and exuberant. Dictionary.com describes art as "quality, production, expression, or realm according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance." Nice bongs are made with quality, thick glass that allows the process of smoking to be smoother. It is produced by glassmakers. Expression is exemplified through different shapes, colors, and extraneous details. Even different types of bong can be made out of many materials, such as plastic, or even false wood. Here is a picture of a bong that is aesthetically beautiful to me. I like it because the shape fo the bong combined with the content and layout of the paint give a sly visual illusion of metal.
Art object with Use:
For some reason I am having a really hard time trying to think of this part. So I am going to do my best to convince you readers that something as simple as a paintbrush, an obvious artists' tool, can be used for many things. First of all, girls can do their makeup and look hipster at the same time! Paintbrushes can be used to dust in tiny spaces. They can be used to clean inside bottles that have small cap holes. The end of a paint brush can be used to puncture things with pressure... or someone if necessary. When dipped in ink, the end can also be used as a pen! You can even make pen holders out of glued together paintbrushes... that'd be cool! When in dire need of chopsticks...and youre out, use paint brushes! Hope that was convincing enough!
