Artttttt Show!

This week for the art show I went to Desiree's thesis display in building 479! Art in Athleticism.  I really enjoyed the show and found the boxing very exhilarating!  I love the idea of using the body as a medium in itself.  Every curve and piece of the body is so interesting as a subjet and I think Desiree picked a really interesting thesis.  Anyways, I went there on Thursday to film training day.  It was nice to go in there first with not as many people and check out the space.  I thought it was really interesting that the show was in the old gym gallery space, nice play.  Filming wise, it was a really fun little project for me to do.  I loved playing with the angles of the lines on the floor and the lines of the ring, sorry I don't know the technical terms for the arena! I got a lot of interesting shots.  Because this was a project about the art in the physicality of boxing, I really wanted to display a lot of parts of the body.  So I filmed their torses, feet, hands, face.  Although I do not box, I can tell a lot of it has to do with specific form and techniques, so I wanted to express that through different and unique shots.  As a gallery space, I liked the utilization of the walls displaying really awesome shots of all the boxers and the hanging punching bags as well added a nice effect.  I also really liked the lighting for the Friday showing.  It added a lot to the aura of the space.  So good job Desiree!  Here is a little video I wanted to put together! I did not have a lot of time at all but I wanted to put some documentation of the space and show up here:).  It won't let me upload my video here for some reason, but here is a link!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HL0XB_a_bc
