Just Dirt Devilin' in the Market...

For this assignment, I chose to do one of my somewhat regular activities in the market place.  This activity was vacuuming with the very reliable hand-held vacum... the DIRT DEVIL!  At home, I usually use it to vacum up anything that spills and to clean my carpet.  I keep it in the corner of my room to remind myself there actually is a floor in here when it is not covered with piles of clothes and notebooks! Anyways, I thought this would be interesting since the only people who clean up the market are the employees.  I wanted to see the reactions when I, a loyal customer, was to help with this simple task.  I vacuumed the dust of the shelves, a bit of the floor, and even the conveyer belt in the check out line.  The reactions I got were stares, laughs, and some did not even notice!  You usually think of market places as clean, since it stores all the food we need and depend on everyday.  However, when I was actually dirt deviling, I found some dust, hair, and other nasty particles! Don't think I'll be going back to Albertsons... Anyways, I felt a bit awkward at first, but actually became very comfortable, not being able to stray from any dust I spotted.  I think a lot of it had to do with the audience, everyone was old, so I was not really about to shy away.  One employee even smiled and said "Thanks!" No questions asked... from him of course.  Anyways,  I like that this class makes me push my boundaries and question my ability to be confident with myself and the things I want to do.
