ARtshow/doc

Unfortunately, I was not able to make it to an art show this week :(  But definitely next week for sure! Anyways, the work for the week was all about the Sequence/Narrative projects.  This is one I really really reallllllly enjoyed!  At first, I went to my oldest brother's house to hang out with my 9 year old nephew who has autism.  I thought it would be really interesting to explore his world and try to en capture his uniqueness on camera.  However, I felt as though this project would be way more effective with footage over time, which I do not have access to yet.  So, when I was just playing around with my camera and talking to my 7 year old niece, we started talking about her parents.  I didn't wanna push it, because clearly that could be a sensitive issue.  However, she felt really comfortable in front of the camera and talking about it.  She even said talking about it made her feel better so that made me feel better about it!  Anyways, I ended up getting a lot of great narrative from her and felt I could make a really interesting short documentary about a child's point of view.   I showed a rough cut in class which I don't want to put up here.  I just got access to the editing lab and plan to have this finished by Thursday, hopefully by class time, but Friday at the latest.  It's really coming together and it is one of my most exciting shorts so far.  I hold this project really close to my heart and can't wait to share the final product!!!!
Two of the 3 kiddssss.
