babybro.

I guess I can refer to my little brother Zachary Soloman Pine as an "object".  I could definitely not live without him; if so, my life would be changed dramatically.  I find him hilarious in every aspect of his ways.  He does what he wants, maybe a little too much of the time, but I love his spontaneous nature and driving personality.  I find inspiration to do new things, meet new people, share, and even let go of judgments because of him.  Without him, I think I would be somewhat of a different person.  I know self-development comes from within, but I really do believe he is part of shaping me as an individual.  I would probably be a bit more selfish and judgmental. I think I would be closed off to new ideas.  I also use him as a reflective tactic.  I like to see what he is doing with his life and relate it to myself when I was at his age. It allows me to learn about myself and see how I've changed with growth in age.  Overall, I'm insanely lucky to have the family I do.  I hope I never have to live without my little brother in my life and loose the opportunity to learn from such a unique individual.

iLike.

Yes! I am so excited about this free for all day.  I hope we have one of these a week!  Today I want to share a few things I really adore and want to recommend to the rest of the world.

1.  GOOD FOOD!
~Diets shmiets. I would rather eat what I want and be happy about it than skinny. I just cant stay away.  A wise friend once said, "I think about food like it's a boy".  Quite true to my daily life!  Here is a meal my roommates and I made! It is a chicken sandwich on toasted Sourdough bread, consisting of peppered arugala, roasted garlic brie, and a grilled chicken breast accompanied with a mushroom, tomato, onion, pineapple grilled kabob drizzled with olive oil and slightly peppered.  YUM!
For desert... a beautifully browned smore...

2.  I love puppies! This is my girl Ella.  She makes my life.  I swear she is a human and has real emotions.  She's very sensitive and gets depressed sometimes but we talk about it and work it out! :)

3.  I love when ladybugs land on me! It gives me a little hope for some luck in my life. I dont have the attention span or memory to see if i really get luck from them, but I they definitely add a twinkle to my day! ESP. on the beach, like this one below.

THAT'S IT FOR TODAY!

CONCERNS & FEARS.

I have a couple concerns about this class.  Most of my fear comes from myself and the lack in confidence I have in my artwork.  I am scared that I will not fully let myself go and really get out of the box.  I am scared I will, for some reason, fear showing my artwork to the rest of the class.  And of course I fear my ability to do these blog posts everyday!  At first I was tentative to stay in, with a bunch of art majors.  I thought I would be too intimidated to really take control of the scaredy cat inside of me.  However, I think I have the determination to really come alive in this class.  I really want to get confidence in my artwork and myself out of this.  I want to push my comfort boundaries as well as go crazy with my art and really get s**t done.  I want to impress Desiree as well as myself! I hope that with "art" as a class, I will be more inspired and determine to work on my art more often instead of getting caught up in classes. I hope this class and the work that I do in it can really do that for me!
Some arm art. I LOVE art!

KIP.

Being an art studio newbie, Kip's lecture was my first! I really enjoyed his quirky stories as well as his style of teaching.  I'm just going to say it, I think at times art can be really boring.  Staring at pictures and learning the author's names is not my thing.  I've been in an art history class before and felt tortured every lecture.  I was not sure what to expect from this 7A class and was very pleasantly surprised! The about-to-be 2 hours flew by.  In particular, Kip's story about the pile of trash being analyzed not only cracked me up, but also really help me to understand and reflect upon what this course is going to be about.  I am so excited to learn about art in every form, in every scene of life, and in my own environment.  I really appreciate Kip's enthusiasm and up to date material.  I loved how he commented upon the youtube UCLA student who made a fool of herself.  When he questioned, "Why do these type of medias become viral?", I really could not think of a significant answer.  I hope we explore more upon that idea and the types of media and art that make society tick!
This is a painting I found on my way down to the beach.  Art is BEAUTIFUL! Art is EVERYWHERE!
